Mean Time Estimates

Time estimates are fiendishly difficult with complex projects and despite the depiction in this comic everyone is trying to do the best for their team and chances are they are all going to be wrong with their estimates. The comic shows the disparity of estimates given the combination of technical understanding of the effort as well as the chances of being yelled at by the client. It is a very arrangement made for comical effect.
Desktops

Web developers/programmers and designers need to work closely together if those duties are handled by different people. As a lead web developer I had ample opportunities of seeing the desktops of my fellow developers and the talented designers and how different their minds worked. This comic showcases the disparity in the laptop desktops. I created it with two little JavaScript-powered web pages, one for each desktop, to add emojis as the icons. I took the photos used as the backgrounds.

Dragonflies are remarkable insects. They have the highest percentage of their body weight dedicated to their flying muscles of any insect. They are capable of maneuvering like a helicopter or a high performance airplane. This comic compares them to the venerable P-51 Mustang.
WTF

Everyone knows what WTF stands for. In this nerdy comic for *Nix command line users it standards for Whereis Tsort Find. It shows the help information for each of the commands.
First Cup

Whether you are a morning person or not coffee is a wildly popular drink. This comic shows a red-eyed Sun with a hot cup of coffee. The caption says, “If this is only my first cup proceed with caution.”
Soapbox

Standing on a soapbox is associated with a speaker elevating their importance, typically for a political speech, by standing on a box. This comic shows what can happen when stepping off of the soapbox.
Vultures

This comic is a play on why everything seems to taste like chicken. In in one of the vultures wonders if they taste like chicken as well.
User Manual

User manuals, when they are included, are among the most ignored things in the world. This comic is about that fact. It posits that had Germany spread their top secret messages in user manuals rather than using radio transmissions of messages encoded by the Enigma machine they probably would never have been found by the Allies.
Painted Turtle

This is a comic based on the saying, “If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck then it is a duck.” But with the colorful North American painted turtle. It is based on when I told someone about the photographs I took of them, including the one I used to make this illustration.
Tree of Knowledge 2022

The fabled Tree of Knowledge from Genesis bore a fruit Adam and Eve were forbidden from eating. This comic replaces the fruit with unpopular things from our modern world, including lawyers, politicians, charging adapters, software updates, and the like.
